In “Five Total Strangers”, Mira has to come home for the holidays. Wrong. But when an on-arrival blizzard causes a connecting flight to be canceled, it looks like she could get stranded at the airport indefinitely. And then Harper, Mira’s glamorous roommate since her initial flight, offers her a ride. Harper and her three friends can drop Mira off on the way home. But as they leave, Mira realizes that her fellow travelers are all complete strangers. And each of them is hiding something. Soon the roads turned from slippery to terrifying. People’s possessions mysteriously disappear. Someone in the car is clearly lying and may even sabotage the trip – but why? And will Mira be able to return home alive, or will this nightmare become fatal?
Deputy Director Robin Shtulman said, âA lot of our Athol readers love thrillers and love the intensity and pace of the YA books, so this year’s pick fits our community perfectly. “
