Cristina Ruscica was one of 22 writers who wrote a chapter for Aligned Leaders: Sage Wisdom From Women Choose Their Soul’s Mission Over Societal Expectation With No Regret.

Ruscica, who was born and raised in Toronto but has lived in Chatham for 26 years, says her chapter was based on her own experience and journey.

Aligned Leaders, she said, is primarily about women entrepreneurs and how they’ve been bold enough to break out of societal norms.

She said some of them came from a place of trauma.

Ruscica said part of it was her experience.

A former employee of Chatham Kent Children’s Services, she said she works “on the front lines with families who have experienced trauma and crisis… barriers. It is a cycle of abuse or a cycle of models. And then I realized that there were things in my own life that weren’t healed.

Ruscica said that she had dealt with her clients’ issues but had reached an “emotional breaking point where I had had enough. I discovered that I was facing roadblocks in my own life … and I realized it was because of those unhealed parts.

She said she went through a process of writing her own story and said “this path has worked for me. This is where you almost have to create something new for yourself.

Ruscica’s university education includes a bachelor’s degree in psychology. After leaving the children’s department, she opened a private practice that includes coaching programs to help clients overcome life’s challenges.

“The job I do now is to understand the mindset and take control of your energy to create the life you want,” she said. “You have to connect with yourself and this inner core.”

Aligned Leaders is not Ruscica’s first publishing effort. Earlier this year, she wrote Breathe Wide Open: Exhale The Past and Fearlessly Recalibrate Your Life. It was published by Friesen Press in British Columbia in May.

This first book opened a door that led her to be hired as an executive contributor for an online magazine. It is thanks to this experience that she was invited to contribute to Aligned Leaders.

Aligned Leaders is published by Divine Destiny Publishing in Arizona. Ruscica said it has become, according to Amazon, a bestseller in Australia, the United States and Spain, and that in Canada it is Amazon’s best book in the spiritual self-help categories. , successful self-help and self-help for body and mind.

In her private practice, Rusisca said she has developed a 12-week program to help women overcome obstacles they face due to past trauma.

“It is a path to healing and forgiveness and to freeing yourself from the past.”
She said she designed workshops to help others “connect with their real selves and empower them.”
