peak guard

Spencer DinwiddieSpencer Dinwiddie FD – $6,900 DK – $6,800
Opponent – ORP
Project Pts FD – 38.88 DK – 42.89

The Wizards are still a game or two away from Bradley Beal’s return to the mix, so I think we can continue to play Dinwiddie here in cash even with the price going up. He faces a Portland team that is ranked last in defense this season while running a slightly above average pace. It’s just a great match and Dinwiddie has seen a slight uptick in usage with Beal on the shelf. The former has taken 14 and 15 shots in the last two games respectively with double-digit assists in one of them. It’s still a place to run him there and I think he’ll see heavier property even pushing $7,000 on both sites.

Darius GarlandDarius Garland FD – $8,100 DK – $7,900
Opponent – OKAY
Proj Pts FD – 39.31 DK – 43.44

The Cavaliers are unlucky with their point guards this season with Collin Sexton and Ricky Rubio lost for the season and now recent addition Rajon Rondo banged up. But with the latter released on Friday, it was Garland’s game to fully take over. He had 25 shots in 37 minutes against Spurs, scoring 32 points and adding eight assists. If Rondo is out again and we can project maximum minutes for Darius here, I think he’ll play cash games again, this time against a very weak Thunder team.

shooting guard

James HardenJames Harden FD – $10,300 DK – $11,200
Opponent – NO
Proj Pts FD – 50.17 DK – 54.99

The Nets have handled Harden’s major minutes very well this season and it should be the case once again on Saturday. He’s doubled up with points and assists in two of the last three games and he’s racked up more than 25 points in every game over that streak. The Pelicans are among the worst defensive teams in the league this season, ranking 25th overall. Harden is getting a bit pricey on DraftKings, but with enough savings elsewhere, I think we can make him work on FanDuel as one of the spending options.

Will BartonWill Barton FD – $5,900 DK – $5,900
Opponent – ALL
Proj Pts FD – 31.08 DK – 34.04

Barton returned for the Nuggets’ final game, playing just 25 minutes as they brought him up. That should be increased in this game against the Lakers and it’s a solid cash game in the middle tier where it’s sometimes hard to find reliable additions to the roster. Barton’s 15 points, five rebounds and four assists per game come at those prices, and it stands to reason he sees a slight uptick in the run against a faster-paced Lakers team. Again, it’s more about filling in salaries than real upside, but I think Barton is in play here.

small forward

Nassir PetitNassir Petit FD – $5,400 DK – $5,800
Opponent – HAS BEEN
Proj Pts FD – 34.02 DK – 35.97

The Trailblazers stay stoned here and still need Little to play big minutes on the wing. He’s shot in double figures in four of the last six games and is shooting nearly six threes per game over that streak. He’s had 13 points and six rebounds over the past two weeks and it’s been a good game against the Wizards. The price on Little is nearing the breaking point, especially on DraftKings, but in the near future, I think minutes can push up to the upper 30s again. This, combined with the fact that the small forward is a weaker position, puts Little very much in play.

De'Andre HunterDe’Andre Hunter FD – $4,500 DK – $3,000
Opponent – New York
Proj Pts FD – 19.92 DK – 21.85

Hunter is back now and joined the Hawks’ starting lineup on Friday. He was solid, playing 30 minutes and scoring 20 points on 7-10 shooting. The real story here is that it comes at bare minimum on DraftKings, which really helps fill out the lineups there. We need to check his status on back to back to see if the team is ready to send him back there. But we should get that news in time on this list with the Hawks playing the Knicks early.

Power forward/center

Nikola JokicNikola Jokic FD – $11,100 DK – $12,600
Opponent – ALL
Proj Pts FD – 65.06 DNK – 69.84

Jokic is getting a good game against the Lakers who are playing randomly the fastest pace in the league with average defensive efficiency. Jokic is Jokic, one of the best fantasy producers we’ve seen, averaging 26 points, eight assists and now a career-high 14 rebounds per game. The Lakers have been getting smaller lately with more Lebron James at the five. It will be interesting to see if they follow the pace here against one of the best centers in the league. Either way, I think Jokic is clear money play in this game.

Kyle KuzmaKyle Kuzma FD – $8,700 DK – $8,100
Opponent – ORP
Proj Pts FD – 37.54 DK – 41.23

Kyle Kuzma over $8,000 in cash? Oki Doki. But what would have seemed like crazy talk just a week or two ago isn’t anymore. This dude has been the short-term elite, hitting double-doubles in six of his last eight games. During that streak, he is averaging 26 points and 11 rebounds with a few assists, blocks, and steals as well. He’s shooting more than 18 shots per game, including about six from beyond the arc where he’s shooting 34%. Going against the worst defense is also a great place and I think we can make Kuzma work here, especially on DraftKings.

Day'Ron SharpeDay’Ron Sharpe FD – $4,400 DK – $3,600
Opponent – NO
Proj Pts FD – 25.91 DK – 27.71

I think Sharpe will pick up the tee here and be cheap enough to be considered cash at both venues. He has a small fouling problem, something that shouldn’t improve against Jonas Valanciunas, but the price is right to risk it here. The last game was tough, but Sharpe’s previous two saw him average 17 points and seven rebounds with minutes under 20 seconds. He can clearly set it up with smaller minute shares, which removes some of the risk here.
