Tales of Arise announces Sword Art Online DLC

Bandai Namco announced somewhat surprisingly Tales of the Ascension Downloadable Content Pack (DLC) featuring content from the Sword Art Online franchise which is slated for release very soon on October 7th. And while it brings new outfits for characters like Alphen, Shionne, and Law as you would expect from a Tales of DLC pack, it does a lot more than that.

Specifically, the new Sword Art Online Collaboration Pack, which is a paid DLC, for Tales of the Ascension allows players to fight Kirito and Asuna from Sword Art Online, the aforementioned outfits, the ability to obtain Kirito’s iconic weapons, and an exclusive Mystic Arte. While we know when it will be released, the exact price of the DLC has not yet been announced.

You can check out a trailer featuring the goodies from the Sword Art Online Collaboration Pack for Tales of the Ascension below:

Tales of the Ascension is a fun game, but with a bit of tonal disparity, ”read part of our video game review, which gave it a 4 out of 5.“ Wait a minute, you’ll be looking for owls in wacky clothes. props in the name of the owl king, then you will see in horror a city of people literally liquefy before your eyes. As long as you try not to think too much about the suffocating and almost overwhelming horror the characters endured, you’ll probably feel like you’re getting your money’s worth in this very long and twisty game. Even with some of its exaggerated plot points, it’s definitely one of the best games I’ve played in 2021 and should be enjoyed by both newcomers to the franchise and veterans alike. “

As noted above, the Sword Art Online Collaboration Pack is slated for release on October 7. Tales of the Ascension itself is currently available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC.
