Spike Guard / Shooting Guard

Ja MorantJa Morant FD – $10,800 DK – $10,300
Opponent – GS
Proj Pts FD – 55.22 DK – 57.12

It’s pretty ridiculous what Ja has done in these playoffs, but specifically in those first two games against the Warriors. This dude is averaging an insane 41 points, 8.5 rebounds and nine assists in the top two, putting together some of the craziest lines you’ll see in fantasy basketball. And he’s a 6’3 point guard. Sure, we knew he was on his way to superstardom, but that’s something else entirely. Considering the way he does it in all respects, he creates a very difficult fade, especially since the Grizzlies are going to have to play him almost every minute to have a chance.

Holiday JrueHoliday Jrue FD – $8,300 DK – $8,100
Opponent – BOS
Project Pts FD – 46.27 NSP – 46.87

With the Bucks still playing without Khris Middleton, Jrue is emerging as one of the best players on the slate and his price hasn’t budged a ton since the playoffs began. And yet he’s a guy who just took the second most shots on the team last time out (20) and for the first two games he’s averaging 22 points, 6.5 rebounds, six assists and 2.5 steals. He needs to register a major run for the Bucks to have a chance against Boston given how thin they are at this point, especially in the backcourt.

De'Anthony MeltonDe’Anthony Melton FD – $5,500 DK – $4,300
Opponent – GS
Proj Pts FD – 25.05 DK – 25.25

Zaire WilliamsZaire Williams FD – $4,700 DK – $3,200
Opponent – GS
Proj Pts FD – 16.67 DNK – 17.64

With Dillon Brooks out for this game, it looks like these two are going to have to step up to play a bit more in the backcourt for the Grizzlies. In the final game, with Brooks sent off early, Melton ran 26 minutes and scored just three points. But he added eight rebounds and five blocks + steals. He’s always been a solid points-per-minute player if allowed to run. I think I can bear the price of DraftKings.

And then there’s Ziaire Williams who will likely fire Brooks’ start in this game. In a spare capacity last time out, he took the third-most shots on the team and finished with 14 points and five rebounds. He’s getting close to the minimum on DraftKings, which means he’s worth it if he runs with the starters.

small forward

Desmond ScourgeDesmond Scourge FD – $5,800 DK – $6,400
Opponent – GS
Proj Pts FD – 40.53 DK – 42.14

He doesn’t look amazing this streak, but he’s going to step it up now. Dillon Brooks is suspended for this game, which means Bane is in the big minutes again. It’s been an all-out struggle in this series for year two and there’s definitely something for him dealing with injuries here. He didn’t look to shoot much and the ancillary stats aren’t there either. But we’re going to have to consider rolling him here while he’s in the starting XI because you’d have to think the minutes will go up. But again, it’s a risk if you think there’s something wrong with this guy.

Klay ThompsonKlay Thompson FD – $6,200 DK – $7,100
Opponent – SAME
Proj Pts FD – 37.68 DK – 40.19

With Gary Payton out, it looks like the Warriors will start the Curry/Klay/Poole backcourt with Wiggins and Draymond at four and five. There’s a chance they’ll go back to Looney at five, but I don’t think that will be the case. From Klay’s perspective, Poole joining the starting lineup isn’t necessarily a good thing. But with Payton out, it looks like Thompson is in line to push back over 40 minutes again. His 19 shots were second on the team last game and he finished with just 12 points as he struggled to go from three to 2-12. I love the usage and think it comes to a crazy deal on FanDuel.

Power forward/center

Giannis AntetokounmpoGiannis Antetokounmpo FD – $11,000 DK – $11,500
Opponent – BOS
Proj Pts FD – 67.1 DK – 68.89

We’ve said it before, but he’s (along with Jokic) basically the toughest fade in fantasy basketball. The dude is just too overwhelming when it comes to piling on the fantasy line and the Bucks need all of him to keep the Bucks in the series. Last time out, he was *disappointing* and still finished with 28 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. He took 27 shots and was ineffective on the field. Boston is trying to stick to a plan with that in mind. But it’s still Giannis we’re talking about and that’s only one game away from a 13/24/12 triple-double.

Al HorfordAl Horford FD – $7,200 DK – $5,900
Opponent – MIL
Proj Pts FD – 36.53 DK – 35.86

The Celtics really appreciated his defensive presence on the field, especially when it came to guarding Giannis. This led to plenty of minutes for the veteran and he used them to his advantage. He’s averaging 12 points and 11 rebounds through the first two games, eight total defensive stats over that streak. I love the price of DraftKings not nearly adjusting the number of minutes he plays in this series. And the Celtics are clearly prioritizing his run given his ability to hold off Giannis.

Andrew WigginsAndrew Wiggins FD – $6,100 DK – $5,800
Opponent – SAME
Proj Pts FD – 32.93 DK – 33.56

Wiggins will likely play all four again for the Warriors and with Gary Payton out, they will need his defense more than ever. Payton was critical in trying to slow Ja down even a bit. Some of that probably falls on Wiggins now and he’s online for almost 40 minutes in this game. He ran 38 times last time out and his 16 shots were third on the team. He was crap from beyond the arc, shooting only 1-7. But he contributed nine rebounds and also contributed quite a bit in assists and defensive stats. I like the DraftKings price considering the context.
